  1. ArianeWorks selects MyCTO to prototype stage-recovery concept for Themis

    ArianeWorks, the acceleration platform launched by CNES and ArianeGroup last February, is geared notably towards ramping up development of the THEMIS low-cost reusable first-stage demonstrator, working in partnership with SMEs and start-ups. To this end, it has selected MyCTO, a young rapid-prototyping firm in the Paris region spotted at the Station F campus through FrenchTech and ConnectbyCNES, to build a prototype of one of the stage-recovery concepts under study.

  2. CNES selected as business provider for French Tech Seed investment fund

    Thursday 17 January 2019, CNES was selected as business provider for the French Tech Seed investment fund. The winners of the Call for Interest, launched by Bpifrance, were announced by Frédérique Vidal, France’s Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Secretary of State to the French Minister for the Economy and Finance, and Guillaume Boudy, France’s Secretary General for Investment. CNES will head a consortium responsible for supporting space startups in their bid to secure funding from investors, and for leveraging French Tech Seed funding to help make the space sector a driver for economic development.

  3. ExoMars 2020- Oxia Planum selected as landing site

    Oxia Planum will be the landing site for the ExoMars 2020 mission—the second mission in the ExoMars programme, led by ESA in cooperation with Roscosmos. The site was recommended by an international consortium headed by the LGL-TPE Earth, planets and environment geology laboratory in Lyon (Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University/Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon/CNRS) in close partnership with the IAS space astrophysics institute (CNRS/Paris-Sud University). Oxia Planum was studied primarily using data collected by the OMEGA instrument, which was developed by IAS, the LESIA space and astrophysics instrumentation research laboratory and CNES and is operating on Europe’s Mars Express orbiter. The ExoMars 2020 mission will be launched in July 2020 and will land on the Red Planet in March 2021.

  6. CNES- Innovate to Win: Gfi Informatique Selected to Run Managed Services for SIRIUS Information System

    CNES’s Information Systems Directorate recently put the managed services for SIRIUS—its network information and computer/user/service infrastructure system—out to competition. Following a call for tender, Gfi Informatique has been selected to run all its managed services including the transformation of CNES’s information system infrastructure and applications, for a period of four years extendable to six.

    Thursday 6 May, CNES Chief Operating Officer Lionel Suchet and Guillaume Costecalde, President of Nubbo, a start-up incubator and accelerator based in Occitanie, Southwest France, signed a partnership agreement to launch TechTheMoon, the world’s first incubator dedicated exclusively to the lunar economy.
